"Ring the Bell" for gender equality was held Baku Stock Exchange

On March 9, 2022, the Baku Stock Exchange hosted the “Ring the Bell” for gender equality with UNDP Azerbaijan.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by  Eldar Abdullayev Baku Stock Exchange Acting Chairman of the Executive Board, Sukhrob Khojimatov UNDP Officer-in-Charge, Alberto Hernandez Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation Deputy Regional Director of Cooperation, Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Kaori Ishikawa UN Women Georgia Office Country Representative for Georgia Mission, Aygun Ahmadova UNDP, WEESC Project Manager, Leyla Qaralova National Depository Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan Director of Corporate Services Department, Sevinc Aliverdiyeva Central Bank Prudential Policy and Methodology Division Capital Market Supervision Department, Narmin Jabrayilli AzFinance Investment Company International markets department specialist.

Eldar Abdullayev Baku Stock Exchange Acting Chairman of the Executive Board announced the “Ring the Bell” event, he also mentioned that global Gender Equality events have a positive impact on the development of gender equality in society, the key role they can play in the corporate sector and the empowerment of women in the workplace.

In 2020 Baku Stock Exchange launched cooperation with the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative Group (UN SSE) and World Federation of Stock Exchanges (WFE).  It should be noted that every year in the first week of March, the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative Group and the World Federation of Stock Exchanges together with its member exchanges hold a "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event.
