Baku Stock Exchange participated in the meeting organized with the Working Group on Climate-related Financial Disclosures within the framework of partnership with the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative Group.

On August 9 and August 16, 2022, the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) will participate in the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative Group (The UN Sustainable Stock Exchange) in order to represent the capital market of Azerbaijan in the international arena, as well as expand opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience with leading stock exchanges of foreign countries. Participated in the meeting organized with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) within the framework of partnership with the Stock Exchange Initiative - "UNSSE"). International Finance Corporation and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) also participated in the meeting.

TCFD's primary goal is to provide Capital Markets participants with high-quality training on the impacts of climate change on financial markets. TCFD organized a joint meeting with the BSE to provide information free of charge to its issuers, Exchange members, and other key stakeholders, and TCFD explained at the meeting what climate reporting is and why it is important. The task force also provided participants with a global and regional context and focused on initial steps on how to address the TCFD recommendations.

It should be noted that on March 31, 2020, the Baku Stock Exchange was accepted as a member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative (The UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative - "UNSSE"). The main goal of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative Group, founded in 2009, is to create an organized platform for exchanges on the study and application of advanced environmental, social and corporate governance principles and to promote investment and financing principles within the framework of established sustainable development goals.
